AEW reveals the first glimpse of Dynamite and Rampage’s new look

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that AEW TV was getting a refresh at the top of the new year, and that was cited as one of the reasons for the appointment of Michael Mansouri as the new Vice President and Co-Executive Producer of Dynamite and Rampage. It was then revealed that a new slate of id shots for both shows were filmed during the Full Gear weekend, and fans got their first glimpse of AEW’s new look in a promotional video shown during Rampage. You can check out the promo for yourself in the video below (via Will Washington).

The promotion features a group of AEW talent against a background pulsating with primarily red and blue lights. Lines are traced horizontally and vertically and shift between blue and red, and other lights shine from the ceiling. It’s a sleek look and feel different from what AEW has been known for in the past couple of years, so that should freshen things up nicely.

It will be interesting to see if the actual set is different or if only the color scheme and lights receive major changes. AEW has changed up kits here and there, but for the most part, it’s kept the same basic look for a while. Also, it remains to be seen how Dynamite and Rampage will differentiate from each other or if they will part ways at all.

As for our New Year crush, we already have a few matches to look forward to. AR Fox and Top Flight on Friday won the Christmas Casino Trios Royale, with the last person to fall from Blackpool Combat Club being Claudio Castagnoli. Jon Moxley was also part of the match but Adam Hangman-Page took him out. Now Top Flight will take on Castagnoli and Moxley in a New Year’s Smash.

Then we’ll have a big championship match, where TNT Champion Samoa Joe will defend his title against former TNT Champion Wardlow. The episode will also feature the sixth match of the Best of Seven series between The Elite and Death Triangle, and the eventual winner of the series will win the AEW World Trios Championship.

Rampage also revealed that Robby Suho will team with Willow Nightingale to take on Tye Milo and Jericho’s Anna Jay, while Ethan Page will take on Brian Danielson.
